Meet Vh1 Classic Rock Nights host Eddie Webb. Webb began his radio career at 15 in a small town in Iowa. He has worked for Skid Row, Guns N' Roses and most recently for Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's Ozzfest where he ran the VIP program for the tour.

SLASH FILES FOR DIVORCE

Slash has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly nine years, Perla Ferrar.  According to TMZ, in the court papers, Slash cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. In 1965Bob Dylan released his all-electric album Highway 61 Revisited. 

In 1968The Beatles released their “Hey Jude” single. The song, written for the young Julian Lennon by Paul McCartney, went to number one.

In 1969…The Texas International Pop Festival kicked off with headlining acts The Chicago Transit Authority and Led Zeppelin.

In 1973The Doors finally broke up. Following Jim Morrison’s death in July 1971, the band had released two more albums.

In 1963Peter, Paul & Mary appeared at a Washington, D.C. civil rights demonstration led by Martin Luther King, Jr. The band performed “Blowin’ in the Wind” before King delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Bob Dylan also sang at the march.

 

In 1964…Following a concert at New York’s Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, The Beatles met Bob Dylan for the first time. The bohemian introduced the “Fab Four” to marijuana.

 

In 1965The Rolling Stones hired a new manager. The band announced that Andrew Loog Oldham would share managerial duties with Allen Klein. They then signed a five-year deal with Decca Records, which they ended in 1970 by writing the un-releasable “single” “C*******er Blues.”

 

In 1965Bob Dylan treated an audience at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium to some of his electric material at the start of an autumn tour.

 

In 1972David Bowie and his Spiders from Mars played Carnegie Hall in New York for the first time.
