October 9^th would have been John Lennon’s 70^th birthday and plenty of events have been set up to mark the occasion.  On that day, Yoko Ono will be in Iceland for the annual lighting of the Imagine Peace Tower and to perform with the Plastic Ono Band.  The festivities start before then though.  This weekend, Ono and the Plastic Ono Band will bring out special guests for a pair of concerts in L-A.  Then, on Tuesday, Lennon’s remastered solo catalog will come out both individually and as the John Lennon Signature Box set.  On the 8^th, Nowhere Boy, the biopic about Lennon’s teenage years comes out, and on November 22^nd, LENNONYC, the documentary about the singer’s years in New York City, will air on PBS.  Finally, on November 12^th, Jackson Browne, Patti Smith and other musicians will pay tribute to Lennon at a concert in New York City.
