DENSMORE ON WHY FOLKS CONNECT TO DOORS MUSIC
Posted: Nov 30, 2010
Today, Doors drummer John Densmore turns 66. He’s been making music for 45 years and helped to create some of the most iconic songs of all-time. In fact, generation after generation seems to turn to The Doors’ music, almost as though it is a rite of passage. John told us why he thinks people connect to the band’s work.
“The drumming and we provide every young person with a scissors to cut the umbilical cord. A rite of passage – you gotta go through a door!”
Hear some classic Doors music today by picking up their recent CD, The Doors: Live in Vancouver. The disc features previously unreleased live recordings from the band’s June 1970 gig in the Canadian city. Learn more at TheDoors.com.
