Meet Vh1 Classic Rock Nights host Eddie Webb. Webb began his radio career at 15 in a small town in Iowa. He has worked for Skid Row, Guns N' Roses and most recently for Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's Ozzfest where he ran the VIP program for the tour.

In 1970Jefferson Airplane received a one-thousand dollar fine for using obscenities during an Oklahoma City concert.

In 1977…While sleeping at Toronto’s Harbour Castle Hotel, Keith Richards was awakened by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who searched the suite. They found 22 grams of heroin, five grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The Rolling Stones guitarist was arrested and charged with possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to traffic. He was released on 25-thousand dollars bail.

 

In 1980…At the 22nd Annual GRAMMY Awards, Billy Joel won Album of the Year for 52nd Street. Meanwhile, The Doobie Brothers took home a GRAMMY for Record and Song of the Year for their hit “What a Fool Believes.”

In 1990Milli Vanilli‘s Rob Pilatus told Time magazine: “Musically, we’re more talented than any Bob Dylan or Paul McCartney. Mick Jagger can’t produce a sound. I’m the new Elvis.”

 

In 2001Dave Matthews Band released the album Everyday.

 

ON FEBRUARY 27TH

In 2002U2’s “Walk On” won a GRAMMY for Record of the Year, while the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou? won Album of the Year. In a GRAMMY first, They Might Be Giants’ “Boss of Me” from Malcolm in the Middle became the first TV theme ever to win a GRAMMY for Best Song Written for a Movie or TV Show.

 

In 2003Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington underwent emergency heart surgery, leaving the Southern rockers to delay a forthcoming tour and the release of their Vicious Cycle album.
