WILL DAVID COVERDALE BE IN THE ROCK OF AGES MOVIE?
Posted: Apr 27, 2011
Those who have seen the Broadway show Rock of Ages will remember that one of the funniest scenes happens before the musical even begins, when Whitesnake singer David Coverdale’s voice comically reminds the audience to turn off their cell phones. So now that the play is being turned into a movie, will the rocker make an appearance in the flick?
“Oh I hope not, no. For me, I’ve been asked a bunch of times because I’m drama personified. I get my kicks being a snake. Many years ago, I was supposed to do a British version of Spinal Tap called Still Crazy and I found it as disloyal and as faithless as the music business could be. Going into Hollywood for me would be like knowingly going into a relationship with someone who would be repeatedly unfaithful.”
While David might not be in it, Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta Jones and Alec Baldwin have all been cast in the Rock of Ages film, which is due out in June of 2012.
