Earlier this year, Eddie Van Halen donated a replica of his Frankenstein guitar to The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and now, the rocker is talking to Smithsonian Magazine about the instrument.  Eddie revealed it was the result of him “tinkering and experimenting with different elements of electric guitars.”  He went on to say he retired the axe from regular use because he wanted to “respect it and let it survive” after the “abuse” it took from “endless touring and recording.”  Read more at SmithsonianMag.com.
