DALTREY TALKS ABOUT HIS HEALTH

Posted: Jun 30, 2011

Roger Daltrey has revealed that touring with The Who really wreaked havoc on his health.  The singer, who recently had an operation to remove a pre-cancerous growth from one of his vocal cords, told RollingStone.com, “I’ve been suffering for quite a few of the previous tours.  I never understood that if you sweat as much as I used to every night, you drain your body of salts.”  Roger said touring made him “very, very seriously ill” and that he was “almost hospitalized with serious problems.”  With his issues and Pete Townshend’s tinnitus, Roger stated, “We’re in the last bits of our career” but they don’t plan to retire soon, adding, “I feel that we owe it to the public that supported us all these years to go down with us.”
