HILL: DOWNING LEFT BECAUSE OF GOLF

Posted: Jun 30, 2011

Judas Priest fans are still wondering why guitarist K.K. Downing retired from the band right before their Epitaph trek.  While the rocker explained it was due to a breakdown in his working relationship with the band and management, some think there might be more to it.  The band’s bassist, Ian Hill, told England’s Express & Star that Downing had “a lot on his plate with his golf course and I think he couldn’t spend the time away.”  That course is the one K.K. designed in Shropshire, England.  No word if there is truth to Hill’s suspicions but you can read more at ExpressAndStar.com.
