LOU REED MADE METALLICA CRY

Posted: Aug 29, 2011

You don’t really think of the guys in Metallica as the emotional type, but guitarist Kirk Hammett has revealed that both he and singer James Hetfield were brought to tears as they recorded their collaborative album with Lou Reed.  According to Blabbermouth.net, Kirk revealed that the two broke down during the recording of a song called “Junior Dad.”  Apparently, Hammett’s father had just passed away and he ran out of the room sobbing.  He was later joined by James, who was sobbing too.  Kirk described it as “insane.” Hear “Junior Dad” and more when the collaborative album, Lulu, comes out on November 1st.
