BUCKINGHAM ON FLEETWOOD MAC AND SOLO TOURS
Posted: Sep 30, 2011
Earlier this month, Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood revealed that next year, the band would tour again. We brought the topic up to the group’s guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham, and here’s what he said.
“Mmmm, that’s what I hear but, you know, there’s nothing on the books yet so I wouldn’t believe it until I saw it, you know.”
With nothing yet solidified for a trek, Lindsey went on to tell us the decisions that still need to be made.
“Whether or not we want to go in and make something new before we tour is an open question right now. I think we’re going to have to sit down as a group and decide collectively what it is we are trying to accomplish this time so I don’t really know.”
In the meantime, Buckingham is on the road, touring behind his new solo album, Seeds We Sow. As opposed to the arenas he performs in with Fleetwood Mac, he’s playing in smaller venues during his jaunt. He told us how it’s been so far.
“I love going out and doing this. This is where I’m able to get an enhanced sense of myself where, these are my brothers, I share this with them, we all enjoy putting this stuff out there and it’s also, it’s nice because when you’re playing in a theater of 15-hundred people, I mean, it really is, it’s a whole other thing and it’s a very valid experience for me and it helps me to continue to grow.”
